Same here. I once got lost on my way to picking up take-out when visiting family, and ended up taking second place in the 2 liter seven passenger class.

much of the parking lot at the top is still dirt, and some of the pull offs for views, so may not have been all that long ago

His previous post mentioned it was in 2000. They didn't finish paving until a couple years ago.
